A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON NOVEMBER 28,2000 TO HEAR ANY PROTESTS
OR OBJECTIONS TO THE CONFIRMATION OF ASSESSMENT OF COSTS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF STREETLIGHTS AND APPURTENANT WORK ON VARIOUS
CITY STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION . The Superintendent of Streets filed a report of work pursuant to
Section 5882 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, relating to the
construction of streetlight improvements completed on the following streets:
23rd Street
- from Arizona Avenue to Wilshire Boulevard
29th Street
- from Ocean Park Boulevard to Pearl Street
Lincoln Boulevard - from Montana Avenue to Alta Avenue
Princeton Street - from Wilshire Boulevard to Washington Avenue
Prospect Avenue - from Marine Street to the end of street (dead end)
Yale Street - from Montana Avenue to Washington Avenue
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 5870 et seq. of said Code, the City Council does
hereby order and declare that on the 28th day of November, 2000 at 7:00 p.m., in the
City Council Chambers of City Hall, 1685 Main Street, Santa Monica, California 90401,
,
it will hear and pass upon the report by the Superintendent of Streets, of the cost of
improvements together with any objections or protests, if any, which may be raised by
any property owner subject to an assessment for the cost of such improvements and by
any other interested persons.
SECTION 3. All protests or objections must be in writing and filed with the City Clerk
on or before the time set for the hearing of the protests and objections.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to mail notices, pursuant to
Government Code Section 54954.9, in the manner and form prescribed by law, of the
cost of improvement and of the adoption of this Resolution to all persons owning
commercial, industrial, or residential real property in the hereinbefore described
assessment district whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized
assessment roll for the City taxes or as known to the City Clerk.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk is directed to publish this Resolution, in accordance with
Government Code Section 6066, in The Argonaut once a week for two weeks with at
least five days intervening between the first date and the second date of publication
The first publication is to be made not less than 45 days prior to the date of the above
public hearing
