A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA RECOGNIZING THE CALIFORNIA LEAGUE
OF CITY EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATIONS (C.L.O.C.E.A.)
AS THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
FORMERLY REPRESENTED BY TEAMSTERS LOCAL 911
WHEREAS, City Council Ordinance 801 provides for a secret
ballot election to determine representation of an employee
bargaining unit:
WHEREAS, a secret ballot election was held on June 14, 1988
to determine the future representation of those employees
represented by Teamsters Local 911:
WHEREAS, a "run-Off" secret ballot election was held on
June 23, 1988 to determine whether Teamsters or California League
of City Employee Association: (C.L.O.C.E.A.) would represent the
employee bargaining unit:
WHEREAS, out of two hundred twenty-four (224) ballots cast,
the Teamsters received ninety-two (92) votes and california
League of City Employee Associations (C.L.O.C.E.A.) received one
hundred thirty-one (131) votes,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Santa Monica City employee bargaining unit
formerly represented by Teamsters Local 911 will, as of this

date, shall be represented by California League of City Employee
Associations also known as C.L.O.C.E.A.
SECTION 2. This bargaining unit includes, but is not
limited to the following job classifications:
Airport Security Guard, Airport Attendant I,
Airport Attendant II, Animal Control
Officer, Carpenter, Carpenter Apprentice,
Concrete Finisher, Custodian I, Custodian
II, Electrician Apprentice, Electrician,
Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II,
Equipment Operator III, Event Attendant II,
Groundskeeper, Heavy Equipment Operator,
Heavy Truckdriver, Irrigation Technician,
Kennel Aide, Laborer I, Laborer II, Laborer
Trainee, Library Building Technician,
Mechanic Assistant, Mechanic, Meter Reader,
Motor Coach Cleaner, Motor Sweeper Operator,
Painter, Painter Apprentice, Parking Lot
Attendant, Parking Meter Collector,
pier/Harbor Guard, Pipe Fitter, Parking
Meter Repairer, Plumber, Plumber Apprentice,
Radio Technician, Sanitation Collector,
Sanitation Truckdriver, Sign Painter,
Storekeeper, Traffic Painter, Transportation
Mechanic Assistant, Transportation Mechanic,
Tree Trimmer, Welder Fabricator, Water Meter
Repairer.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of
this Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
