RESOLUTION NO. 8198 (CCS) (CITY COUNCIL SERIES) RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SUPPORTING QUALITY EDUCATION IN SANTA MONICA WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Santa Monica reaffirms its committment to work with the residents of Santa Monica and the members of the Santa Monica/Malibu Board of Education to provide opportunities for the highest possible quality education for all Santa Monica students, NOW 1 THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council urges the Board of Education in its deliberation on the establishment of a high school program in Malibu to consider the impact of such a program on Santa Monica High School, and to ensure that if such a program is implemented, the Board takes all appropriate steps, in consul tation wi th the communi ty , to protect the breath, integrity, and quality of educational opportunities at Santa Monica High School. SECTION 2. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. APPROVED AS TO FORM: p~~~' ROBERT M.
