A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING CERTAIN WEEDS
GROWING UPON CERTAIN LANDS WITHIN THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE
WHEREAS, there are weeds growing upon the streets,
sidewalks, and certain lots in the City of Santa Monica, which
bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature or attain such a large
growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or are otherwise
noxious and dangerous to the public health and welfare; and
WHEREAS, there are accumulations of rubbish, refuse,
and dirt upon certain streets, sidewalks, and lots in the City of
Santa Monica which are hazardous or dangerous to the public
health and welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That all weeds growing upon the streets,
sidewalks, or certain lots in the City of Santa Monica, which
bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature or attain such a large
growth as to become a fire menace when dry or which are otherwise
noxious or dangerous, are hereby declared to be a public
nuisance.
SECTION 2.
That all rubbish, refuse, and dirt
accumulated upon streets, sidewalks, or lots in the City of Santa
Monica are hereby declared to be a public nuisance.
SECTION 3.
That a public hearing shall be set for
March 26, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City
Hall, to hear any protests in regard to this Resolution.

SECTION 4.
That the names of the streets and
description of the properties in the City of Santa Monica upon
which or in front of which said nuisances exist are attached to
this Resolution.
SECTION 5.
That the Street Superintendent be, and
hereby is, authorized and directed to cause to be conspicuously
posted in front of the properties on which or in front of which
the hereinabove described nuisances exist, a notice in the form
and in the manner pursuant to the powers and authority contained
in Sections 39560 through 39586 of the California Government
Code.
SECTION 6 .
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
