A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING ASSESSMENT
DIAGRAM AND CONFIRMING ASSESSMENT FOR
STREETLIGHTING ON VARIOUS CITY STREETS
ALL WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica, pursuant to
section 5100 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code, commenced
proceedings to construct street lighting and appurtenant work on:
1. Twenty-fourth Street from pico Boulevard to Pearl
Street;
2. Franklin street from Northerly city Limits to city
reservoirs;
3. Ashland Avenue from Fourth street to sixth street;
4. Fifteenth street from Broadway to Colorado Avenue;
5. Harvard street from Montana Avenue to wilshire
Boulevard;
6. Delaware Avenue from Stewart Street to Warwick
Avenue:
7. Pine street from Lincoln Boulevard to Seventh
Street;
8. Tenth Street from Ashland Avenue to 220'
southeasterly;
9. Seventh street from Colorado Avenue to Olympic
Boulevard Westbound; and
10. Lincoln Boulevard from Santa Monica Boulevard to
Olympic Boulevard Westbound,
all within the City of Santa Monica.
WHEREAS, the proceeding is more fully described in the
Resolutions of Intention adopted by the city Council on August 8,
1989, September 12, 1989, November 14, 1989, December 12, 1989
and December 12, 1990, being Resolution Numbers 7872 (CCS), 7900
(CCS), 7934 (CCS), 7951 (CCS) and 8138 (CCS), respectively; and
WHEREAS, the contract for the above described work has
been fulfilled to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of
streets; and

WHEREAS, the Superintendent of streets has made an
assessment to cover the sum due for the work performed and
specified in the contract; and
WHEREAS, the assessment has been filed with the City
Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk gave the notice required by
Sections 5362 and 5363 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, upon the day and hour fixed for hearing by
the city Clerk, the City council of the City of Santa Monica
heard and passed upon any and all objections, appeals, and
protests,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That all objections, appeals, and protests
of every kind and nature be the same are hereby overruled and
denied.
SECTION 2. That the diagram of property affected and
benefited by the construction of a high-pressure sodium street
lighting system and appurtenant work on Twenty-fourth street
between Pico Boulevard and Pearl Street; Franklin Street from
Northerly city Limits
to

approximately
1,125
feet
southeasterly; Ashland Avenue between Fourth Street and sixth
street; Fifteenth Street between Broadway and Colorado Avenue;
Harvard street between Montana Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard;
Delaware Avenue between stewart street and warwick Avenue; Pine
street between Lincoln Boulevard and Seventh street; Tenth street

between Ashland Avenue and 220' southeasterly; Seventh street
between Colorado Avenue and Olympic Boulevard westbound; and
Lincoln Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Olympic
Boulevard Westbound, all in the city of Santa Monica, as more
fully described in Resolution Numbers 7872 (CCS), 7900(CCS), 7934
(CCS), 7951 (CCS) and 8138 (CCS), and therein declared to be the
property to be assessed to pay the expense of the improvements,
is approved and the city Clerk is directed to execute the
certificate on the diagram to the superintendent of streets.
SECTION 3.
That the assessment for the construction
of a high-pressure sodium street lighting system and appurtenant
work on Twenty-fourth Street between pico Boulevard and Pearl
Street; Franklin street from Northerly City Limits to City
approximately 1,125 feet Southeasterly: Ashland Avenue between
Fourth street and Sixth street; Fifteenth street between Broadway
and Colorado Avenue; Harvard street between Montana Avenue and
Wilshire Boulevard: Delaware Avenue between stewart street and
warwick Avenue; pine Street between Lincoln Boulevard and Seventh
street;

and
220'
southeasterly; Seventh Street between Colorado Avenue and Olympic
Boulevard Westbound; and Lincoln Boulevard between Santa Monica
Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard Westbound,
as more fully
described in Resolution Numbers 7872(CCS), 7900(CCS), 7934 (CCS),
7951 (CCS), and 8138 (CCS), be the same hereby is confirmed and
approved.
SECTION 4.
That the Superintendent of streets shall
forthwith attach a warrant to said assessment bearing the date of
this confirmation.

SECTION 5.
The assessment roll, warrant and diagram
shall be recorded in the Office of the Superintendent of streets,
and immediately thereafter the City Clerk shall file a copy of
the assessment diagram in the Off ice of County Recorder, and
thereafter shall record in said Office of the County Recorder, a
Notice of Assessment, all in the manner and form as prescribed by
section 3114 of the Streets and Highways Code of the state of
California.
SECTION 6 .
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
