RESOLUTION NO. 7894(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR BICYCLE AND/OR
PEDESTRIAN FUNDS UNDER SB 821 AND APPROVING
THE ADOPTION OF ITS BICYCLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN PLAN
WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that 2% of each county's total
local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to fund
the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has planned to install
bike route signage on 14th street between Pico Boulevard and
Cal i fornia Avenue, and other routes throughout the Ci ty , in
conformance with the specifications of caltran's Planning and
Design Criteria for Bicycle Facilities in california and the
Regional Transportation plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica desires to designate
bicycle routes within the city utilizing the funds available
under sa 821,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Santa Monica agrees to designate
bicycle routes within the City in conformance with SB 821 and
shall comply with the specifications of Caltran's Planning and
Design Criteria for Bicycle Facilities in california and the
Regional Transportation Plan in the construction of these bicycle
lanes.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to act on the
city's behalf and to apply for and receive funds pursuant to sa
821.

SECTION 3. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and affect.
