A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
APPROVING DISPOSITION AND DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN
RELIANCE DEVELOPMENT GROUP, INC.
AND
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
Whereas California state law and the City of Santa
Monica City Charter permit the city to enter into a Disposition
and Development agreement with a private party for the
development of City owned property; and
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Monica has identified a parcel of
land located at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport ("Airport
Residual Land") on which development is appropriate and desired;
WHEREAS, the city prepared a Request for Development Proposal
(RFP) and released the RFP in April 1986 inviting private
developers to submit development proposals to the City for its
consideration; and
WHEREAS, the City carefully evaluated the business terms
proposed by three development firms and on October ~, 1987 I
selected Reliance Development Group,
Inc. to develop the
property; and

WHEREAS, on October 27, 19B7, the city council authorized the
City Manager to negotiate a disposition and development agreement
with Reliance Development Group, Inc. for the Airport Residual
Land: and
WHEREAS, approval of a disposition and development agreement
is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act: and
WHEREAS, on October 3, 19B9, the City Council conducted a
properly noticed public hearinq on the Disposition and
Development Agreement between Reliance Development Group, Inc.
and the City of Santa Monica at which it reviewed and approved
the terms of the Disposition and Development Agreement; and
WHEREAS,
require the

approval of the
safety, and
Disposition
general welfare
and Development
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The city Council authorizes the city Manager to
negotiate and execute the Disposition and Development Agreement
with Reliance Development Group, Inc. for the Airport Residual
Land consistent with the attached document Exhibit "A".

SECTION 2. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and from then on the same shall be in full force
and effect.
