A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A PROPOSAL AND
THE SIGNING OF A CONTRACT FOR PROVIDING SERVICES FOR
ELDERLY PERSONS
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles Department of Communlty & Senior
Citizen Services has been awarded the funds for prov1d1ng services for the
elderly under the Older Americans Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica wishes to apply for Older Americans Act
funds for nutrition and social services in order to admin1ster said services;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Ci ty of Santa Moni ca approve the
submittal of the proposal for Older Americans Act funds; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the C1 ty of Santa Moni ca des i gnate and
author1ze a representative to sign the contract for Older Americans Act funds
on behalf of the said City of Santa Monica,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica approves the
submittal of a proposal for Older Americans Act funds.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica des1gnates the
City Manager or in his absence, the Assistant City Manager as the authorized
representative to sign the contract and all documents necessary to accompany
said contract, 1ncl ud1ng all amendments to said contract within the fiscal
year.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution, and henceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
