RESOLUTION NO. 6677(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
FOR DEBRIS HAULING SERVICES
WHEREAS,
Formal Bld No. 1817 for debrls hauling
serVlces produced no responsible bids;
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that debris
haullng
services
may
be
purchased under more favorable
Clrcumstances in the open market; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Department has need of
debris hauling services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1.
That bids are hereby rejected for the
purchase of debris hauling services since the services may be
purchased under more favorably in the open market.
SECTION
2.
Competitlve bidding is hereby waived
pursuant to Section 2508 of the Santa Monica Municlpal Code.
SECTION 3.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to
negotiate on the open market to execute a purchase order for the
procurement of de~ls hauling services for the General Servlces
Department for the period of May 1. 1983 to April 30. 1984.

SECTION 4.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be 1 n full force and effect.
