A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REVISING THE BASIC RATE AND
SERVICE CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE SUPPLIED
BY THE SANTA MONICA WATER DIVISION
WHEREAS, The City Council may establish, amend or revise from time to
time by resolution the rate and service charges to be charged for supplying
water service to any consumer, pursuant to Section 7200 of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Water Divlsion has conducted a study of water rates and
service charges for the purpose of adequately supporting Water Division
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, said study indicates a need for a decrease in the Capital Improvement
SerVlce Charge.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOl~S:
SECTION 1. Water Rate. The bi-monthly base rate is hereby established
as follows:
A. Zero to 2000 Cubic Feet: Forty-Eight Cents ($0.48) per one hundred (100)
CUblC feet of water used.
B. Over 2000 Cubic Feet:
FiftY-S1X Cents ($0.56) per one hundred (100)
CUblC feet of water used in excess of two
thousand (2000) cubic feet of water used.

C. Power and Imported ~ater Adjustment for All Users: Thirteen Cents
($0.13) per each one hundred (100) cubic feet
of water used.
SECTION 2. Service Charge. The hi-monthly serVlce charge for domestic
service is hereby established at the following rates:

SECTION 3. Capital Improvement Service Charge. The bi-monthly capital
improvement service charge is hereby established at the following rates:

SECTION 4. Applicability. The water rate and service charges established
by this Resolution shall be applicable to all water service by the City of
Santa Monica ~ater Dlvision except as otherwise provided in Article VlIt
Chapter 2 of the Santa Monica ~unicipal Code.
SECTION 5. The water rate and serVlce charges established by this Resolution
shall take effect upon July l~ 1983, or upon administration implementation.

SECTION 6. Resolution No. 6298 (CCS) is hereby repealed.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
