A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SA~TA ~IDNICA AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ~L~~AGER TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FROM
THE LIBRARY SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION
ACT AND CERTIFYING THE AVAILABILITY OF
LOCAL FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Santa MonIca deS1res to structurally
upgrade and enlarge the Ocean Park Branch LIbrary structure; and
WHEREAS, funds are ava1lable from the federal L1brary
Services and Construction Act administered by the Ca1iforn1a
State Library.
~OW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COU~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MO~ICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager of the City of Santa Monica
15 hereby authorized to submit an application on behalf of the
City of Santa Monica, a muniCipal corporation organized and
existing under a freeholder's charter adopted and amended from
time to time pursuant to the Constitution of the State of
California, for federal Library Services and Construction Act
(LSCA) Title II construction funds provided under the Emergency
Jobs Bill of 1982 (PL9S-S).
SECTIO~ 2. The sum of $584,500 1S available from the
City's General Fund as the local match for thIS proJect.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption
of thls resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
