A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA t10NICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY !-1ANAGER
TO EXECUTE A t1E~10RANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BE'TI-mEN THE CITY OF SANTA t10NICA AND THE
LIBRARY GUILD, AFSCME LOCAL 1634
UHEREAS, Section 2.06 of OrdInance 801 (CCS) of the CIty of
Santa Monica requIres preparatIon of a written memorandum of
unders tand Ing be tween the adminls tra tion and employees If an
agreement can be reached; and
HHEREAS, Section 2.06 of Ordinance 801 (CeS) of the CI ty of
San ta flonl.ca fur ther provIdes tha t any such memorandum of
unders tanding shall no t be bindIng unless and un til presen ted to
the governIng body for determInatIon; and
v-JHEREAS,
the purpose of thIS memorandum of understanding is
to promote and provIde harmonIOUS relatIons, cooperatIon and
understandIng between the City and LIBRARY GUILD, AFSCME LOCAL
1634;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

1: The City Council does hereby approve and
au thorize
the
C1 ty rlanager to execu te the memorandum of
unders tandl.ng execu ted by the LIBRARY GUILD, AFSCr-1E LOCAL 1634,
a copy of wh ich is attached here to.
SECTION 2: The C 1 ty Clerk shall cer tify to the adop bon ot
this Resolu t10n and thencefor th and thereat ter the same shall be
in full force and effec t.
