A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA OF THE INTENTION TO FILE
AN ELECTION OF COVERAGE UNDER SECTION 710.5 OF
THE UNEi1PLOY~1ENT INSURAHCE CODE ON BEHALF OF
LIBRARY GUILD (AFSCME LOCAL l634) AND
LIBRARY NON-PROFESSIONALS (AFSCfm LOCAL 1634)
HHEREAS,
the Ca11forn1d Unemployment Insurance Code perm1ts
the pub11c agency employer to elect coverage for d1sab1l1ty
insurance only, w1th respect to all employees in an appropr1ate
un1t as establlshed by lawj and
WfEREAS, one of the steps to elec tlng such coverage 1S a
resolut1on approv1ng the f11ing for elect1ve coverage under Sect10n
710.5 of the Unemployment Insurance Code; and
UHEREAS, the Library Guild (AFSCME Local 1634) and L1brary
Non-ProfeSS1onals (AFSCME Local 1634) desire such coverage pursuant

to the barga1ning agreeP1ent effect1ve July 1,1983.
NOH THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA t10NICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLO\IS:

approves the elec tlon of coverage under See t10n 710.5 of the
Unemploymen t Insurance Code and au thor1zes the t1ayor to execu te an
