A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITV
OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
BICYCLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED UNDER
SB 821
WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that 2% of each County's total local Transportation
Fund be annually set aside and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian
"
facil Hies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has planned a bikeway system in conformance
with specifications of Caltransl Planning and Design Criteria for Bikeways in California
and the Regional Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS~ the City of Santa Monica desires to construct the master bikeway system
within their City utilizing the funds available under S8 821.
NOW~ THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. To adopt the Bikeway Sytem in conformance with the specifications of
Caltrans' Planning and Design Criteria for Bikeways in California and the Regional
Transportation Plan.
SECTION 2. To authorize C. M. Dennis~ Director of Finance as the City's
authorized signature and designated contact person.
SECTION 3. To apply for all funds available to the City of Santa Monica
allocated for Bikeways and Pedestrian facilities (5B 821).
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution,
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
