A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF S&~TA MONICA SUPPORTING
PROPOSITION 13
WHEREAS, praposltion 13, the Water Resources Statutory
Initlatlve, will be on the November 2, 1982, ballot to be
voted upon by the Callfornla electorate; and
WHEREAS, propositlon 13 contalns four key provlslons
requlring (l) ground water management proposals, (2) water
efficlency and conservatlon provlsions, (3) protection of
in-stream use values, and (4) slgned water user contracts
prlor to filling the new Melones Dam; and
WHEREAS, the above-named prOV1Slons will have a posltlve
envlronmental effect as well as apportionlng costs to the
actual water users,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That lt supports proposltion 13, the Water
Resources Statutory Initlative and urges a "YES" vote on
November 2, 1982.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be In full force and effect.
