RESOLUTION NO. 6595 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING
DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR THE SALE OF NINE USED BUSES AND THREE
USED VEHICLES FROM THE TRANSPORTATION.
WHEREAS, Formal Bid No. 1808 was advertised for the sale of
used and three used vehicles from the Transportat10n Department;
WHEREAS, the one response was totally 1nadequate to cover the
value of the used buses to the City ($253.00 each) ; and
WHEREAS, to further advertize for formal bids would cause
unnecessary expense and delay and would be of no ava1l; and
WHEREASt the Transportation Department has need of dispos1ng
of the n1ne buses and three vehicles,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 All bld5 rece1ved 1n connection w1th Formal Bld
number 1808 are rejected.
SECTION 2 That formal biddlng is hereby waived for the sale
of nine used buses and three used vehicles since further formal bid
procedures would be of no avail and would cause unnecessary expense
and delay.
SECTION 3 The C1ty Manager 15 hereby authorized to negotiate
on the open market to execute a sale of nine used buses and three
used veh1cles from the Transportat1on Department.
SECTION 4 The C1ty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of
thIS Resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
