RESOLUTION NO. 6596(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA REQUESTING THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA RELINQUISH CONTROL OF STATE
ROUTE 187 WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
TO THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA.
WHEREAS, there are no plans to upgrade State Route 187 from
a mlnor arterlal to an lntegral point of the State highway system and;
WHEREAS, State Route 187 serves no purpose as being a part of
the State Highway System and;
WHEREAS, it lS in the best interest of the City of Santa Monica
to have local control of State Route 187;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council request the State of Callfornia
relinquish control of State Highway Route 187 to the City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In full force
and effect.
