A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY V~NAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT ~ITH THE STATE COASTAL
CONSERVANCY.
WHEREAS, The City of Santa Monica and the State Coastal
Conservancy have cooperated to conduct a series of communlty workshops
on restoratlon of the munlcipal pler; and
WHEREAS, Santa Monica P1er GUlde1~nes were prepared based
on the comrnun~ty workshops and approved by the City Councl1 on
September 28, 1982, and by the Coastal Conservancy on October 7,
1982: and
vlliEREAS, a contract was SUbsequently developed to implement
the first phase of restoration of the munlcipal pler through a loan
In the amount of $500,000 to the City of Santa Monlca from the
Coastal Conservancy,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Clty of Santa ~ionica approves the terms
and agrees to all condltions contalned in the accompanYlng agreewent
between the Clty of Santa OConlca and the State Coastal Conservancy
to implement the flrst phase of the pier Restoratlon.
SECTION 2. The City Councll authorizes the City Manager
to execute the accompanYlng agreement with the State Coastal Conservancy
for funds for the first phase of Santa lionica Pier Guidelines.
SECTION 3. The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon of
th~s resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In
full force and effect.
