A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA RECOGNIZING THE TREMENDOUS
CONTRIBUTIONS OF HELEN WALLACE TO THE PEOPLE AND
CHURCHES OF THIS COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Helen Wallace has served as the executive
director of the Westside Ecumenical Conference over the past 11
years and helped to guide the growth and development of a
grassroots ecumenical movement in Santa Monica, and
WHEREAS, Helen Wallace has helped to initiate numerous
programs which serve the underserved and needy in the community
including the Meals on Wheels program, the convalescent home
ministry, the Westside Food Bank and the senior cltizen nutrltion
program which feeds hundreds of Santa Monicans each day, and
WHEREAS, Helen Wallace has helped to bring an
ecumenlcal community together by becoming familiar with nearly
all the congregations and clergy in the city through both
worshipping and working together, and
WHEREAS, Helen Wallace has served on the Commission on
Older Americans as a professional with expertise in serving the
needs of seniors.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. To publicly recognize and commend the
dedicated service which Helen Wallace has contributed to our
community.

SECTION 2. To express 1ts deeply felt appreciation for
the time, energy, creativity and commitment which Helen Wallace
has devoted to the people of Santa Monica.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
