R-6664 f) e e CA:RMM:rmemerg9 City Councll Meeting 4-12-83 Santa Monica, California RESOLUTION NUMBER 6664(CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Munlcipal Code Section 2305 authorlzes the Dlrector of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when the City of Santa Monlca is affected or likely to be affected by a public ca1amlty and the C1ty Counc11 1S not 1n seSS1on~ and WHEREAS, commencing on January 27, 1983, condit1ons of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within the C1ty of Santa Monica caused by storm, high t1des, and heavy surf ~ and WHEREAS, the C1ty Council was not 1n session on January 27, 1983; and WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services of the City of Santa Monlca did proclaim the eX1stence of a local emergency w1thln the C1ty of Santa Monica~ and WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the City Council adopted Resolution Number 6621 (CCS), ratifYlng, confirming, and approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of Emergency Services; and 1 - e e WHEREAS, commenclng on March 1, 1983, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within the City of Santa Monlca caused by storm, hlgh tides, and heavy surfi and WHEREAS, the Clty Councll was not in session at the time of conditions giving rise to the emergencYi and WHEREAS, on March 1, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services of the City of Santa Monlca did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the City of Santa Monicai and WHEREAS, on March 8, 1983, the City Council adopted Resolution Number 6642 (CCS), ratifying, confirming, and approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of Emergency Servicesi and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, the City CounCll has revlewed the need to continue the local emergency, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaimed by the Dlrector of Emergency SerVlces on January 27, 1983, shall be deemed to continue to exist in the Clty of Santa Monica until its terminatlon is proclaimed by the City Councll of the City of Santa Monica. SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaimed by the Director of Emergency Services on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed to continue to exist in the City of Santa Monica until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Santa Monlca. 2 .. e e SECTION 3.
