A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING
APRIL 24 THROUGH APRIL 30, 1983
AS CONSUMERS' WEEK
WHEREAS, Apr~l 24 through April 30, 1983 has been
declared Nat~onal Consumers' ~eeki and
WHEREAS, Nat~onal Consumers' Week is intended to
focus attent~on on protect~on aga~nst the marketing of
goods that are hazardous, a fa~r hear~ng of compla~nts, and
considerat~on for consumers' concerns at all levels of
government; and
WHEREAS, Nat~onal Consumers' Week w~ll use as its
slogan "Consumers Supply Demand,"
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Apr~l 24 through Apr~l 30, 1983 is
declared to be Consumers' ~eek in the C~ty of Santa Mon~ca.
SECTION 2. The City Council supports the importance
of educat~on to ensure the continued health and safety of
the consumers of Santa Mon1ca.
SECTION 3. The C~ty Clerk shall cert~fy to the adoption
of th~s Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
