A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FOTrf,AL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
AND EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR TWO IRRIGATION
SYSTEMS.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica Parks Division has a
requirement for installation of irrigation systems at a site at
Montana Ave. and Ocean Ave. and at a site at Colorado Blvd. and
Main St., and
WHEREAS, through informal bidding J. & R. Landscaping has
submitted a bid which is the lowest and best bid bv an unusually
large margin;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to install irrigation systems as noted above,
SECTION 2. That further bid solicitation would cause un-
necessary expense and delay, and is hereby waived
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
excute a purchase agreement for the irrigation systems
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adootion of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
