A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FOR~L BID PROCEDURE AND
AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR PURCHASE
OF BUS PARTS AND SUPPLIES.
t~EREAS, the City of Santa Monica Transportation Department
has a requirement for bus parts and supplies
~iHEREAS, Informal bidding proceedures are no longer in the
best interest of the City in satisfying the needs of the City in
tI,.is instance
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Whereas, to formally advertise for bid at this
time is not a practical solution to these procurement needs and
would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 2. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the necessary bus parts and SUP91ies to maintain
the Citys' buses.
SECTION 3 That further bid solicitation would cause un-
necessary expense and delay, and that formal bidding proceedure
is hereby waived.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
exa:ute purchase orders to C. W. Carter Co., Mohawk Mfg. Co.,
Graham Brake and Diesel, Muncie Reclamation, McFarland Glass
and Brachman Co. for bus parts and supplies through June 3D, 1981.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
