RESOLUTION NO. 6225
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WAIVING FORMAL BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A GAS CHROMATOGRAPH/
MASS SPECTROPHOTOMETER
WHEREAS, the Clty Councll has established the need for the purchase
of a gas chromatograph/mass spectrophotometer; and
WHEREAS, a study has been performed establishlng the quality and
cost of the various models of gas chromatograph/mass spectrophotometer; and
WHEREAS, it has been determlned the Hewlett-Packard lnstrument best
meets the requ1rements of the City 1n both quality and cost;
NOW~ THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. The requirement of formal bids would entail unnecessary
expense and delay.
SECTION 2. The requirement of formal bids is hereby waived.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to enter an agreement
with Hewlett-Packard for the purchase of a gas Chromatograph/mass spectrophotometer.
SECTION 4. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In full force and
effect.
