A RESOLUTIO~ OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ~ONICA APPROVING A~D AUTHORIZING THE CITY
CLERK AKD THE DIRECTOR OF FI:.IAKCE OF THE CITY
OF SA~TA MO~ICA TO DISPOSE OF CERTAI~ CITY
RECORDS UNDER THEIR CHARGE.
WHEREAS, it has been determined that certaIn CIty records under
the charge of the following CIty Department(s) are no longer required
for public or private purposes;
CIty Clerk
Finance
and
WHEREAS, it has been determlned that disposltlon of the above
mentloned materIals is necessary to conserve storage space; and re-
duce staff time, expense and confUSIon In handling and informing the
publlC; and
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of
Callfornla authorlzes that the City offIcial haVIng custody to dIs-
pose of any CIty records and documents which are over two years old
under his or her charge, WIthout makIng a copy thereof, after the
same is no longer requIred, upon the approval of the City Council by
resolution and the wrItten consent of the CIty Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has been designated as the offiCIal
custodlan of records in the Clty of Santa Monica, and
WHEREAS, lt lS therefore desirable to dispose of saId records
listed In Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, ln
storage, WIthout making a copy thereof, which are over two years old
and;
WHEREAS, saId records have been approved for dispOSItIon by the
department head(s) and City Attorney

NOW) THEREFORE, THE CITY COUKCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MO~ICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That approval and authorization 1S hereby glven to
dispose of those records described as Exhiblt "A" attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the C1ty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon
of th1S resolution) and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is authorized to allow examinat10n
by and donat1on to the Santa Mon1ca Historical Soclety records pend1ng
d1Spos1tlon as described hereln, except those deemed confidential ln
the opinion of the City Attorney of sa1d City.
