ZING THE SANTA MONICA POLICE DEPART-
ME1~ TO ORDER ~1ERGENCY TELEPHONE
EQUIPMENT AND PARTICIPATE IN IMPLE-
MENTATION OF A STATEtVIDE EMERGEnCY
TELEPHONE SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the State of Californa desires i~plementation
of a statew~de three dig~t emergency telephone number systeM
by December 1982j
rffiEREAS, the State of California,ln furtherance of th~s
goal, w~ll assume flnanclal responslblllty for installat~on and
monthly rental of equlpment ln local munlclpalltleSj
"~EREAS, the City of Santa Mon~ca desires to particlpate
In this stateWlde ~mergency telephone system so that its cltlzens
May have lrnproved emergency service~
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THB CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. That the Pollce DepartMent of the Clty of Santa
Monlca is hereby authorlzed to order all equ~pment and perform
whatever serVlces are necessary in cooperation with the State of
Cal1fornia to implement a three diglt emergency telephone number
system (911) ln the City of Santa Monlca.
SECTIO:J 2. The Cl ty Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
