A _ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
FOR PURCHASE OF TWO DETROIT DIESEL ENGINES
WHEREAS 1 the City of Santa Monica Transportation Department
has a requirement for Two Detroit Diesel Model 6V-92 TAC Engines
WHEREAS, Covington Diesel has offered to furnish the Diesel
Engines at a discounted price.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the two diesel engines.
SECTION 2. That further bid solicitation would cause unnecessary
expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
~xcute a purchase agreement for the equipment.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
, in full force and effect.
