CITY COUNCIL SERIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF PAINTING A CITY O~JNED APARTMENT BUILDING
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica Property Services has
a requirement for Painting a City Owned Apartment Building, and
WHEREAS, Formal bid procedures have been implemented and
bids have been received, and
\VHEREAS, the lowest bid exceeds the amount budgeted for
the work,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to paint City owned apartment building.
SECTION 2. The City Council rejects all bids heretofore
received for the work.
SECTION 3. That in the opinion of the City Council the above
services may be purchased under more favorable circumstances on the
open market.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into direct negotiation for this procurement without further
compliance with Municipal Code Section 2508.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
