A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FOP~~L BID PRO-
CEDURE AJ.'1D AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF PETROLEUH PRODUCTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has a requirement for
Petroleum Products which exceeds the amounts previously ordered
in accordance with Bid # 1533 dated June 19) 1980 and
WHEREAS: Purchase orders to Gale Barstow, J.E. Dewitt Co.,
Gasco Gasoline Co., Diamond Oil Co. and Union Oil Co. in an estimated
agregate amount of $1,730,112.12 have been issued under the above Bid
if 1533, and
WHEP~AS)purchases of Petroleum Products needs are anticipated
to exceed the above purchase order amounts through June 30, 1981 by
an amount not to exceed $200,000.
NOW THEREFOR, THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to authorize extension of the above listed purchase orders for
Petroleum Products.
SECTION 2. That to further advertise for bids would be to no
avail and would cause unecessary expense and delay_
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
extend the amount of the above listed purchase orders for Petroleum
Products by an amount not to exceed $200,000.
SECTION 4. The City clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
