A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FOR}~L BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF TVI0 BASE STATIONS
liHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica Police Depart~t has a
requirement for Two Base Stations for the Police Comounication
Center.
WHEREAS, TO THE BEST OF Staff's knowledge only one company
(RCA TACTEC Systems) can supply equipment necessary to be compatible
with existing equipment in the Police Department, thereby qualifying
procurement of this requirement under Section 2506A of the Santa
Monica Municipal Code.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Sfu~TA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the Base Stations
SECTION 2. To advertise for Bid would be of no avail and
would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a purchase agreement for the equipment.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
