A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA HONICA HAlVING FURTHER FORY1AL BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF HIGH PRESSURE CONVERTION BALLASTS.
'~REAS, the City of Santa Monica Public Facilities Division
has a requirement for High Pressure Sodium Conversion Ballasts
for City Street Lighting
WHEREAS, Research by Staff has determined that only one
company can supply the ballasts necessary to be compatible with
exisiting equipment in the Electric Department of the Public
Faciltities Division, thereby qualifying procurement of this
requirment under Section 2506A of the Santa Honica Hunicipal Code.
NOW THEREFOP~, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES P~SOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the High Pressure Conversion Ballasts.
SECTION 2. That to advertise for bids would be to no
avail and would cause unecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a purchase agreement for the equipment.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and then~eforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
