CITY COUNCIL SERIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FOP~fAL BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIP~CT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF FLOODLIGHTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monieas. Public Facilities
Maintenance Department has a requirement for Special Floodlights
to Relamp John Adams Ball Field.
"rnEREAS, only one (1) Source, Commercial Lighting Equipment
Co. can fulfill the City1s requirements.
\iHEREAS, to the best of Staff's knowledge only one company
can supply equipment necessary to be compatible with existing
equipment in the Lighting System, thereby qualifying procurement
of this requirenent under Section 2506A of the Santa Honica
~unicipal Code.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Sfu~TA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the special Floodlights.
SECTION 2. That to advertise for bids would be to no avail
and would cause unecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a purchase agreement for the equipment.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk Shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
