A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REVISING THE BASIC RATE AND
SERVICE CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE SUPPLrED
BY THE SANTA MONICA WATER DIVISION
WHEREAS, the City Council may establish, amend or reVlse from time
to time by resolutlon the rate and serVlce charges to be charged for
supplYlng water service to any consumer, pursuant to Section 7200 of the
Santa Monlca Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, t~e Water Divlsion has conducted a study of water rates and
service charges for the purpose of adequately supporting Water Division
expenditures; and
W8EREAS, sald study lndicates a need for and proposes water rate and
serVlce charge Increase.
NOW, T~EREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. ~ater Rate. The bi-monthly base rate is hereby established
as follows:
A. Zero to 2000 Cubic Feet: Forty-Eight Cents ($0.48) per one
hundred (100) cubic feet of water used.
B. Over 2000 Cubic Feet: Fifty-Six Cents (SO. 56) per one hundred
(100) cublc feet of water used in excess of two thousand (2000)
cubic feet of water used.
C. Power and Imported Water AdJustment for All Users; Thirteen
Cents ($Q.13) per each one hundred (100) cublc feet of water used.

SECTION 2. Service Charge. The bi-monthly service charge for domestic
service is hereby established at the following rates:

SECTION 3. Capital Improvement Service Charge. The bi-monthly capital
improvement service charge is hereby established at the following rates:

The water rate and service charges established
SECTION 4. Applicability.
by this Resolution shall be applicable to all water service by the City of
Santa Monica Water Division except as otherwise provided in Article VII,
Chapter 2 of the Santa Monica Municipal Code.
SECTION 5. The water rate and service charges established by this
Resolution shall take effect upon administration implementation.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
