A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA HONICA WAIVING FURTHER FOlU1AL BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF EQUIPUENT LEASE AND HAINTENANCE
CONTRACT.
i~REAS, the City of Santa Monica Police Department has a
requirement for a two year lease and maintenance agreement for
equipQent for the automated want and warrant systeu (A~~~S).
WHEREAS, to the best of Staff's knowledge only one company
can supply equipment necessary to be compatible with existing
equipment in the Police Department.
NmJ THEREFOHE t THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to procure a two year lease and oaintenance agreement.
SECTION 2. That the lease and Qaintenance agreement is exempt
from competitive bidding requirements pursuant to nunicipal code
section 2506A.
SECTION 3. That the City }fanager is hereby authorizied to
execute a purchase agreement for the lease and maintenance agreement.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the sane shall be
in full force and effect.
