A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
CONFIRMING THE 1981 WEED ABATlMENT
ASSESSMENT ROLL AS PREPARED BY THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS
~HEREAS, pursuant to Sections 39500 to 39588 of the Government Code~
proceedings were commenced to abate certain weeds declared a PUOllC nuisance
by the City Council of the City of Santa Monica in Resolutlon No. 6168 eCCS);
and
WHEREAS, the Supertntendent of Streets gave the notice requfred
by Government Code Section 39564~ and the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica heard and overruled obJectlons as required by Government Code Sections
39568 and 39569; and
WHEREAS, upon order of the City Council of the City of Santa Monlca
pursuant to Government Code Sectlon 39571, the Superintendent of Streets
caused the abatement of the nuisance by having the weeds, rubbish, refuse
and dirt removed; and
WHEREAS, the Superlntendent of Streets dld file with the City Councll
hlS Weed Abatement Assessment Roll as required by Section 39574 of the
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the Clty Councll heard and passed upon the ~eed Abatement
Assessment Roll together with all objections and protests as required by
Section 39576 of the Streets and Hlghway Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the ~eed Abatement Assessment Roll prepared by the

Superintendent of Streets heretofore filed and a6ove-descrloed 5e and the

same is hereby conf1rmed.
SECTION 2. That all protests and object1ons of every k1nd and
nature to the Weed Abatement Assessment Roll be and the same are hereby
overruled and denled.
SECTION 3. That the cost of the abatement, as set forth 1n the
Weed Abatement Assessment Roll, shall be assessed against the properties
there1n descr1bed in the manner set forth in Government Code Section 39577.
SECTION 4. That the Superintendent of Streets shall deliver the Weed
Abatement Assessment Roll to the County Assessor, who shall collect the
assessment together w1tb all other taxes agalnst the property in accordance
wlth Section 39578 of the Government Code.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolut1on and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
