RESOLUTION NO. 6332

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING
PROFICIENCY BONUSES FOR
MECHANICS AND GROUNDSKEEPERS
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that it is in the best
1nterests of the City to encourage employees to attain higher
levels of proficiency in their occupations, and
WHEREAS, management officials and the Statewide Employees
Association concur that the establishment of certain bonus pays
will encourage development of such proficiency among mechanical
maintenance personnel and Groundskeepers;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
Section 1 Employees engaged in the mechanical maintenance
of City vehicles who achieve National Institute of Automotive
Service Excellence certification shall receive a monthly bonus of
$50.00.
Section 2. Employees occupying the position of Groundskeeper
who pass a proficiency examination to be administered by the
Personnel Department shall receive a bonus of 2 7% of the employees
base pay
