R-6341 .... ~.. e e CA: RtJlM: SSS: bl Councll Meeting 8/11/81 Santa Monlca, Ca1lforn1a RESOLUTION NO. 6341 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY AND SUPPORTI~G THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT WHEREAS, August 22, 1981 lS Women's Equality Day; and WHEREAS, Women's Equallty Day is intended to raise support for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment in those states in which it has not passed, in the hope that women ln fact wl1l have equal rights under the Unlted States Constltution; and WHEREAS, on Women's Equal1ty Day, numerous organizatlons are conductlng marches, demonstratlons, fund ralsers, and other programs to promote the prlnciple of women's equallty and the adoption of the Equal Rlghts Amendment, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: SECTION 1. August 22, 1981 is declared to be Women's Equality Day in the Clty of Santa Monlca. SECTION 2. The Clty Councll supports the Equal Rlg~ts Amendment and those actlvitles that wl1l lead toward its adoptlon. SECTION 3.
