RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF THE 1982-83 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT ACT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica furnished citizens
with information concerning the amount of funds available for proposed community
development and housing activities and the range of activities that may be undertaken;
and
WHEREAS. a Proposed Statement of Community Development Objectives and
Projected Use of Funds was developed and citizens were afforded an opportunity
to examine its content and submit comments on the proposed statement; and
WHEREAS, publ ic hearings were held to receive comments on community
development performance, to determine community development and housing needs, and
to review the Proposed Statement of Community Development Objectives and Projected
Use of Funds; and
WHEREAS, on April 27, 1982, the City Council approved a final 1982-83
Community Development Block Grant program and approved the required certifications
to be submitted to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Monica possesses
legal authority to receive Community Development Block Grant funds and to execute
the proposed program.

SECTION 2. That the City Council authorizes the submission of the
final Statement of Community Development Objectives and Projected Use of Funds
and all required certifications and assurances.
SECTION 3. That the City Council designates the City Manager as the
authorized representative of the City of Santa Monica to act in connection with
the submission and to provide such additional information as may be required.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this reso-
lution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
