A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE FILmG
OF A REAPPLICATION WITH THE LOS ANG"RT.-m COUNTY
AREA. AGENCY ON AGING FOR A NUTRITION PROGIW1
FOR THE ELDERLY UNDER TITLE III OF THE OLDER
AMERICANS ACT OF 1965, AS AMENDED.
WH'F.1mAS, the County of Los Angeles Department of Senior
Citizens Affairs has been awarded the funds for providing ser-
vices for the elderly under the Older Americans Act;
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica wishes to apply for
Older Americans Act funds for nutrition and social services, in
order to administer said services; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of Santa Monica
approve the submittal of a proposal for Older Americans Act
funds; and
WHF.RR~H, it is necessary that the City of Santa Monica
designate and authorize a representative to sign the contract
for Older Americans Act funds on behalf of City Council.
NOW, THEREFOBE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS :FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the City Manager is hereby autho-
rized to file an application and to execute any contracts or
subsequent amendments related thereto, on behalf of the City of

the City of Santa Monica with the Los Angeles County Area
Agency on Aging for One Hundred Thirty Four Thousand Four
Hundred and Seventy-Three (Sl34,473) Dollars to be used for
a nutrition program for the elderly located at four (4)
City park sites.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
