A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITV OF SANTA MONICA
CONFIRMING THE 1982 WEED ABATEMENT
ASSESSMENT ROLL AS PREPARED BY THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sectlons 39500 to 39588 of the Government
Code, proceedings were commenced to abate certain weeds declared a public
nuisance by the Clty Councll of the Clty of Santa Monica In Resolution No.
6420 (ecs); and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets gave the notice requlred
by Government Code Section 39564, and the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica heard and overruled objectlons as required by Government Code Sections
39568 and 29569, and
WHEREAS, upon order of the City Council of the City of Santa Monlca
pursuant to Government Code Sectlon 39571, the Superintendent of Streets
caused the abatement of the nuisance by having the weeds, rubbish, refuse
and dirt removed; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets dld flle wlth the Clty
Counell his Weed Abatement Assessment Roll as requlred by Sectlon 39574 of the
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Counell heard and passed upon the Weed Abatement
Assessment Roll together with all objections and protests as requlred by
Sectlon 39576 of the Streets and Hlghways Code;
NOW~ THEREFORE~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIrV OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECT10N 1. That the Weed Abatement Assessment Roll prepared by
the Superintendent of Streets heretofore flled and above-described be and the
same is hereby confirmed.

SECTION 2. That all protests and obJections of every kind and
nature to the Weed Abatement Assessment Roll be and the same are hereby
overruled and denled.
SECTION 3. That the cost of the abatement, as set forth in the
Weed Abatement Assessment Roll, shall be assessed against the properties
thereln described in the manner set forth in Government Code Section 39577.
SECTION 4. That the Superintendent of Streets shall deliver the
Weed Abatement Assessment Roll to the County Assessor. who shall collect the
assessment together wlth all other taxes agalnst the property ln accordance
w1th Sectlon 39578 of the Government Code.
SECTION 5. That the Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of
thlS resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
