RESOLUTION NO. 6531 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA CREATING
A RESIDENTIAL CABLE-COMMUNICATIONS TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to form a Residential
Cable Communications Task Force to assist the City Council in
establishlng policy on the Theta Cable Television franchise,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a Cable-Commun1cations Task Force is
hereby created consisting of not less than 9 Members or more than
15 Members to be appointed by the City Council, (of whom not more
than 2 may be non-resident, Santa Monica based employees) with a
substantial interest and/or background in tele-communications,
information processing or community organizations, and one Member
of the City council as liaison.
SECTION 2.
The Cable-Communications Task Force is
directed to assist the City Councll in establishing policy on the
Theta Cable Television franchise, and shall conduct public
educatlon and create forums for public participation, make
recommendations
as to residential consumer, municipal, and
institutional needs for cable services, and make recommendations

concerning protectlon from current and future cable system
practices.
SECTION 3. The Residential Cable-Communications Task
Force will make its reports and recommendations in accordance
with the deadlines established by the City Council.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
