A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING
SEPTEMBER 16, 1982
EARTHQUAKE AHARENES S DAY
~~EREAS, The City Council desires that a day be
declared as Earthquake Awareness Day, and
WHEREAS, Earthquake Awareness Day is intended to
focus attention on promoting public interest and awareness
in earthquake preparedness, and
WHEREAS, The Emergency Services Coordinator has
prepared an Earthquake Awareness Day program to promote
community awareness;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. September 16, 1982 is declared to be
Earthquake Awareness Day in the City of Santa Monica
SECTION 2
The City Council supports the importance
of earthquake awareness.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
