RESOLUTION NO.6351

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA
COASTAL CONSERVANCY TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN
THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A
RESTORATION PLAN FOR THE SANTA MONICA PIER
WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Pier has been determined to be an historic landmark
by the Landmarks Commission of the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Pier is in need of substantial restoration; and
WHEREAS. a comprehenslve plan for the restoration of the pier is essential;
and
WHEREAS, the City is aware that certain funds may be available from the
California Coastal Conservancy for the purpose of the development and implementation
of a restoration plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. The City Council requests that assistance be provided by the
California Coastal Conservancy for the preparation and implementation of a restora-
tion plan for the Santa Monica Pler.
SECTION 2. The City Council directs the staff to transffilt this resolution
to the Californla Coastal Conservancy and to submlt whatever additional information
it may request.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
