RESOLUTION NO. 6370
CITY COUNCIL SERIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FORMAL BIDDING PROCEDURES
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~ffiNAGER TO PURCHASE
THE LEASING OF POLICE UNDERCOVER CARS.
WHEREAS, formal bid # 1655 generated a response higher in
cost than is warrantedJ and
\~EREAS, to proceed further with the formal bid process
would be of no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and
de lay J and
WHEREAS the City Council finds that the Police Department
has need of leasing undercover vehicles.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Formal Bid No. 1655 is hereby cancelled and
any and all responses thereto are hereby rejected.
SECTION 2. Further formal bidding for the used undercover
vehicle leases is hereby waived.
SECTION 3. The City tIanager is hereby authorized to negotiate
for a lease of the needed autos and to execute a contract for
said lease.
