A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
APPROVING THE APPLICATION AND THE PROJECT
AGREEMENT FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION
GRANTS-IN-AID FUND FOR HISTORIC SURVEY PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Congress under Public Law 89-665 has authorized
the establishment of a National Hlstoric Preservation
Grants-ln-Aid Program, providing matching funds to the State of
Callfornia and ltS polltlcal subdivisions for historic
preservation, survey, planning, development and acquisition
projects; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation is
responsible for the administration of the program within the
state, setting up necessary rules and procedures governing
applicatlon by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the State
Department of Parks and Recreatlon require the applicant to
certify by resolution the approval of applications and the
availability of local matching funds prior to submission of said
applications to the state;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The City Council approves the filing of an
application for the National HistoriC Preservation Grants-in-Aid
assistance for the Historic Survey project.
SECTION 2. The City Council appoints the City Manager or
his authorized deputy as agent of the City to coordinate, process
and execute all contracts, agreements, amendments and ancillary
documents within the scope of the attached application.
SECTION 3. The City Council agrees that all required local
matching funds will be provided for the project.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
