RESOLUTION NO. 6403
City Council Series
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FORMAL BID PROCEDURE
AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR PUBLIC
AUCTION OF SURPLUS ~~TERIALS AND EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has a requirement for
Disposal of Surplus Materials and Equipment.
WHEREAS, a Public Auction on a "where is", "as is" basis,
would best fullfill the City's requirements
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS-
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to dispose of surplus materials and equipment
SECTION 2. That formal bid solicitat~on would be of no
avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
negotiate an agreement w~th a Professional Auctioneer to conduct
an auction for the City on a "where is", "as is" basis
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect
