RESOLUTION NO. 6408

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA INSTRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO PREPARE A MID-YEAR BUDGET STATUS REPORT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council needs to be informed in a
timely manner of significant budgetary trends and Issues in
order to effectively carry out its oversight and legislative
responsibilities~ and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to be informed of
the current and projected status of revenues, expendi tures,
and fund balances; and

status the City may wish to change its current level of
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, information obtained from a mid-year
budget review will aid in the preparation of next year's
budget;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNC I L OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The City Manager shall prepare a
mid-year budget status report. Such report shall be prepared
in a timely manner and shall address the current and
proj ected status of revenues, expend i tures, fund ba 1 anc es,
and such other matters as the Clty Manager deems appropriate.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoptlon of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
