A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT FOR A
FIXED ASSET APPRAISAL STUDY
WH E R EA S, the C i t Y des ire s to imp r 0 v e its bon d
rating and its financial creditability; and
WHEREAS, a fixed asset accounting system is an
integral part in the measurement of income to provide regular
and accurate Information on the status of City expenditures
and to clarify management choices and accountability; and
WHEREAS, consulting experti se will allow the Ci ty
to proceed expeditiously to prepare the necessary fixed asset
information for Council and community,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is directed to develop
and initiate a fixed asset appraisal study.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter
into a short-term consulting contract to accomplish the fixed
asset appraisal study for an amount not to exceed $50,000.
