A RESOLuTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY
or SANTA ~ONICA WAIVING FOR~~~L BID PROCEDuRE
AND AUTHORIZING DI~ECT NLGOT~ATION FOR PURCHASE
OF A RE?USE TRUCK TRACTOR
WHEREAS, the City or Santa ~onica Sanitation Department
has a requirecent for purchasing a refuse truck trailer, and
WHEREAS, there lS an urgent need for a new truck tractor
for the preservatlon of the health and safety of the citizens
of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, there lS a company able to furnish a truck trailer
i::nmediately,
NOW, THE~EFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA 110NICA
~OES RESO~VE AS ?CLLOWS:
SECTIO~J 1. That the City COUDCll finds thai: the require-
ffient exists to purchase a refuse trucK tractor.
SECTION 2. The City Council here~y determines that to
advertlse for bids would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary
expense and delay.
SECTIO~ 3. That formal bid solicltation would cause
unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTIO~'~ 4. That the City ilanager is authorized to negotiate
~or the i~~ed~ate purchase of a ref~se truck tractor.
SEC7ION 5. The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of
this resolution, and thencefortn and thereafter the same shall be
