A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION
FOR GRANT FUNDS TO AID IN BURGLARY AND ROBBERY
SUPPRESSION
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Santa Monica has
determined that newly developed technology can assist in the suppression
of the crime of burglary and robbery; and
WHEREAS, newly developed technology can increase the effective-
ness of burglary and robbery suppression wlth the ut11ization of existing
manpower; and
WHEREAS, grant funds are avallable, through the Office of Criminal
Justice Planning for use in developing technologically advanced systems to
aid 1n burglary and robbery suppression; and
WHEREAS, as a conditlon of application for grant funds. the Clty
Councl1 must express its support for such applicatlon and express its
willingness to contribute IImatchl1 funds ln the amount of $14,243;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Clty Council support the appllcatlon for
grant monies for the purpose of bringlng to the City a technologically
advanced system to aid in burglary and robbery suppresslon.
SECTION 2. The City lS wllling to contribute the amount of
$14,243 as matching funds for thlS grant.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of th1S resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be 1n full force and effect.
